Gardaland, the theme park of Peschiera is situated on the southern side of Lake Garda. With a surface area of over 500 thousand square metes, including forty attractions for adults and children, 40 daily shows and four theme villages, it is one of the largest theme parks in Europe and certainly the largest in Italy. Gardaland can be reached by car or by the convenient ferry.
Don't be taken back by the many attractions! To get an idea of everything the park has to offer, climb aboard one of the cabins of the Panoramic Tour which travels suspended over Gardaland. From above, it is easy to decide whether you want to ride on the floating trunks running through the rapids of "Colorado Boat", or take the death defying "Magic Mountain" rollercoaster that zooms at a speed of 85 kilometres per hour, or see the acrobatics of the dolphin and their trainers or embark on an African safari with canoes that drift amid crocodiles and hippopotamuses. Take your pick! The attractions and shows are included in the entrance ticket. A small additional fee is needed for the Sea lions and Dolphins Show. One of the new attractions worth mentioning is the "Sequoia Adventure" which is set in a typical American mountain sawmill that takes you on an exciting ride at maximum height of around 30 meters from the ground and executes a series of 180° turns, you can repeatedly experience the sensation of being upside down. "Top Spin" is for the more courageous and is unique to Italy. It has a platform with armchairs equipped with special safety belts that, on arriving at a height of 18 meters, quickly starts circling and executing 360 degrees turns. A mirror reflects your expression which will be very hard to forget.
Younger children can take the "Ortobrucotour" which allows them to ride on the back of a caterpillar among giant tomatoes, cauliflower and apples, and explore the "Fantasy Kingdom" where every child's dream becomes reality.
One of Gardaland's best attractions is surely the "Pirate's Galleon". In the hold of the pirate ship, you can sail in the midst of a tropical mist, enormous sea serpents, hooks and treasure. "Moon Raker" is a large disc that turns dizzily like a Frisbee in full speed. It is for anyone who does not suffer from vertigo.
The reconstruction of Ancient Egypt in the "Valley of the Kings" is also very fascinating. A magical journey awaits you as you go in search of the Pharaoh's treasure and where, somewhere in the middle of the Temple of Abu Simbel and Tutankhamen's treasure, you can meet Indiana Jones.
The gardens in Gardaland are marvellous: well tended flower beds, sweet-smelling flowers, hedges in the most amazing and incredible shapes, rare and prized trees. You can take a fascinating journey inside the great Egyptian tombs of Nefertari, amid her mysterious and magnificent wall paintings. Virtual reality is created with an innovative graphic system which allows visiting this place as though it was the present day, but seeing it as it was millenniums ago.
Finally, don't miss the new Laser Show which fills the night with music, colours and extraordinary special effects.
